Après avoir connu deux premières sorties en mix-tape, l’aventure « A l’ancienne » de DJ Abdel prend de l’ampleur avec ce premier volume CD. A l’ancienne ? En fait une compilation de vieux titres funky de la période fin 70 début 80 enchaînés comme en soirée.
Abdel, amateur éclairé de funk, s’en est donné à cœur joie : on retrouve ainsi l’artillerie lourde comme Delegation et son Darlin’ (avec une guitare funky comme le paradis), Fat Larry’s Band nous balance son Arc Like You Know (avec une basse lourde comme l’enfer), George Duke sublime ses claviers, Rick James sa guitare, les Brothers Johnson sont également de la partie avec leur Stomp…
Au total, une vingtaine de bombes – plus ou moins connues mais toujours terribles – qui devraient ravir les nostalgiques d’un temps où la musique de danse était belle comme jamais. ~musique.fnac.com.

Né a Casablanca (bourgone).DJ Abdel est d’abord membre des formations Black Blanc Beur, puis Positive Black Soul. Il sera remarqué par sa participation à l’émission télévisée Nulle Part Ailleurs. Il crée ensuite, en collaboration avec le DJ Cut Killer, la société Double H qui produira notamment les albums du groupe 113. Il a également collaboré avec plusieurs radios où il officiait en tant que DJ avec sa propre émission : Fun Radio (émission quotidienne), NRJ, FG DJ Radio. Son style musical est un savant mélange de hip-hop, de funk et de R’n'B. En octobre 2007, DJ Abdel est appelé pour officier sur les prime de la Star Academy, sur TF1, en tant que DJ officiel. ~wikipedia.
